Training in Chinese Medicine
Born in Mauritius and raised in South Africa, Jeff's path eventually took him to Beijing for further study in Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and herbal medicine.
His training included study under Dr Lin Feng-Chao, whose guidance contributed substantially to his development in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
His broader traditional training also included work with teachers such as Liang Dong Sheng.
This combination of formal study, mentorship and long-term practical application continues to inform the way he approaches individual care.
A Wider Background in Chinese Internal Arts
Chinese Medicine is only one part of Jeff's wider body of work.
He has also spent decades practising and teaching:
-
- Chinese martial arts
- Shaolin systems
- Tai Chi Quan
- Health Qigong
- Tui Na
- Traditional Chinese Internal Arts
This background has given him an extensive practical understanding of movement, structure, coordination and traditional Chinese body practices.
These teaching qualifications are separate from his registration as a Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture practitioner.

Approach to Practice
Jeff's clinical approach begins with a simple principle:
Treat the person—not simply the symptom.
Within Chinese Medicine, similar symptoms may arise within very different individual patterns.
For this reason, treatment begins with assessment.
The aim is to understand:
-
- What has changed
- How long it has been present
- What other health factors may be involved
- How the individual responds to treatment
- Whether acupuncture, herbal medicine or another approach is appropriate
Treatment may also sit alongside conventional healthcare where needed.
There is no requirement to choose acupuncture, herbs or another modality before attending your first consultation.
